Urban Air Mobility is a new system of safe and efficient air transport, where people and goods are transported through urban areas using Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft.
VTOL aircraft are safe and stable vehicles. Current technology involves piloted aircraft with a capacity to transport 1 to 4-5 passengers, depending on the different models developed by manufacturers. In the medium to long term, with the evolution of technology, both the range of distances covered and the number of seats offered will increase. Dedicated airspace, the U-Space, will be ensured, with an architecture based on a high level of digitization and automation of functions and specific procedures.
Furthermore, the adoption of dedicated infrastructure, Vertiports, will be necessary for the creation of a network in Italy, starting from the city of Milan and the Lombardy Region, regulated according to the indications of the ENAC National Strategic Plan 2021-2030.
These regulations mandate the installation of lighting systems for both nighttime and low-visibility conditions, and this is where H4air comes into play. With its decade-long experience in setting up surfaces for landing and takeoff, H4air can play a crucial role in the establishment of the Italian Vertiport network.
